Bonjour & welcome to MadameLevasseur.com, I am an American designer and former New Yorker living in France.
Started in New York City I have worked as a web designer, web developer and interactive designer since 1998. In 2013 I moved to Paris to be married to the man of my life and started The Paris Studio where I have worked with business owners from 25+ countries. I feel very blessed to be able to do what I love for the 20+ years and continue working independently as I have most of my career.
As a junior web designer, I was very fortunate to have started my journey in digital design and technology working with some of the best known brands in the arts and entertainment industries: Lincoln Center, NYC Met Opera, New York Philharmonic, some of the longest running Broadway shows (The Phantom of the Opera, Les Misérables and Miss Saigon) as well as world class recording labels like BMG and Sony Classical Music. After 9/11 I was laid off as our company in Chelsea closed its door anticipating an economic downturn; as a result I built my own design practice out of my apartment in Manhattan with clients from all over the country for the next 9 years. In 2010 I rejoined the workforce when I had the opportunity to work at BN.com to lead UX Design effort for pubit!, the first self-publishing platform by Barnes and Noble.
Before moving to France in 2013, I spent 2 years at The Wall Street Journal Digital Network (Dow Jones & Co.) in New York City, where I led UX Design effort for Barrons Online & Barrons on iPad and was part of a team responsible for WSJ Mobile, SmartMoney Online, MarketWatch and WSJ.com. My 20+ years of experience in NYC start-ups, entertainment, non-profits and digital news & media sharpened my skills and provided me with tremendous exposure to bringing digital content onto multiple platforms in a dozen languages to millions of users around the world. In my own design practice I have helped hundreds of professionals and small business owners around the world strengthen their branding and presence across platforms.
I hold a BBA (Bachelor of Business Administration) degree in Marketing/Advertising from Baruch College, the City University Of New York. As an avid learner I attended Hunter College studying Fine Arts as well as the graduate program in Museum Studies at Fashion Institute of Technology. Before moving to France I studied French as a second language at McGill University in Montréal, Canada.
I look forward to working with you.
